First Look at the X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Sentinels on Display at Comic-Con

     July 18, 2013

While Comic-Con is littered with great panels, merchandise, and first-looks at footage from film and TV, the convention also plays host to a number of more subtle teases for upcoming genre properties.  It’s pretty much a given that one of Fox’s “mystery” films poised to appear during the studio’s Hall H panel on Saturday will be X-Men: Days of Future Past, and that presence has all but been confirmed with a first look at the antagonistic Sentinels on the streets of San Diego.  Earlier today, a booth was set up just outside the convention center that boasts the Trask Industries logo and offers a glimpse at the head of the mechanistic Sentinels, as Trask Industries asks ongoers to “celebrate 50 years of human progress.”  The Sentinels are, of course, giant robots whose sole purpose is to hunt and kill mutants.

The villainous Trask will be played by Peter Dinklage in the film, but we should have much more info on X-Men: Days of Future Past to report after the panel on Saturday.  For now, hit the jump to check out the Sentinel image.

A viral site for the film has also been activated over at, but as of now it’s very minimal.

    AW HELL YES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So looking forward to ‘THE WOLVERINE’ next week and to ‘X-MEN : DAYS OF FUTURE PAST’ next year!!!!!!!!! Looks so damn AWESOME PICTURES of the Sentinels!!!!!

    • shanks le rue

Ditto to that. Getting hyped up with ‘the wolverine’ out soon and days of future past later. Can not wait to see the sentinels in action. i liked the little teaser with the sentinel head and wolverine and the rest of the x-men crew in the danger room in x-men 3 – the last stand, underrated movie, I thought it was awesome, full of non stop action and enough character development that had me entertained.

The Wolverine this year, Days of Future Past next year, and X-Force potentially in 2015? Are we looking at X-Men becoming an annualized film franchise?

      • NickyZ

I would like an X-Men movie every year, that would be perfect!

      • Alex

I like how they always show pictures of the original 90s X-Force in the articles about a new movie adaption. Just the pads and everything that was the 90s. It wasn’t as bad as people make it out to be.

I read tonnes of comics as a child in the 90′s. So yes, 90′s comics were… 90′s comics, granted. But I have a lot of childhood nostalgia for stuff like WildC.A.T.s, Savage Dragon, Spawn, Gen 13, Youngblood, the entire Top Cow universe, and the like.

great news, been waiting for the sentinels. maybe Apocalypse, Omega Red and Mr. Sinister in later movies.

It would have been cool to have been at Comic con, I hear there are rumors that there is going to be a panel for ‘Darkwing Duck’, the lost episodes that were made but never aired. I hope they get released on dvd along with the rest of the episodes not yet released on DVD.

In this age of HD, what’s a DVD?

      • Dakota Lancaster

        He’s right, HD-DVD, please.

      • higgins

Again, Darkwing Duck or Ducktales ain’t getting a HD DVD release, idiot.

      • willyk

Nothing is getting an HD DVD release.

      • higgins

Hey idiot, Darkwing Duck is not going to get a HD DVD release, so saying DVD makes perfect sense.

  • Ryan Schwartz

AWESOME… but I hope they are at least 5 times bigger then this!

    • Nerdgasm

That right there would set them to be about 9-11 feet tall. judging alone by the fact that it’s as big as that dudes torso. in the cartoons i always thought they were too big…most comics have them at about 20 feet.

Finally! after Transformers, Real Steel, Pacific Rim they finally decided to add these robots to the franchise. Not complaining, if anything this will raise the stakes in the movie’s plot!
