Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters may be getting a lot more mutants. Well, actually just a lot of the same mutant. Comic Book Movie reports that the character Multiple Man (real name: Jamie Maddrox) will among the students in Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men prequel, X-Men: First Class. For those who can’t already guess, Maddrox’s power is that he can make copies of himself. He was a villain in X-Men: The Last Stand (played by Eric Dane), which leads me to wonder which “X-Men” movies are canon at this point and which are being ignored. It’s possible that Maddrox is a pupil who “went bad”, but I continue to advocate that The Last Stand should be forgotten.

Hope it doesn't get to crowded like The Last Stand, but I have faith in Vaughn.

Last Stand was a gigantic piece of shit and should be disregarded completely. Just like Batman & Robin, Batman Forever, Ghost Rider, Daredevil, Elektra, Both Fantastic Four movies, The first Hulk movie, Catwoman etc etc etc
The movie continuity is so screwed up it is hard to take it seriously
I'm changing my mind about this movie. I was a big X-men fan when I was a kid. I subscribed because there were no comic book stores near my town on the Oregon coast and I remember standing out in the rain by my mail box waiting for 'the fate of the phoenix' to arrive.
If Vaugn can get this right, it could redeem the franchise in my eyes. The casting thus far has sounded spot on – McAvoy in particular is an inspired choice for Xavier (as an aside, if you don't dig him based on crap like Wanted, Penolope, etc, check out his stint on the BBC's Shameless.) I'd like them to dump the canon as it was established in the first films altogether. A young Jugjernaught would be a great addition as well.
