There are currently reports on the Internet that the first trailer for Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class will be attached to The Green Hornet this weekend.  However, contrary to Brand X’s report, we have just received an e-mail from Fox saying that while they don’t know when the trailer will premiere, it will not be attached to The Green Hornet.  Obviously, as soon as we find out when you can first see the trailer, we’ll let you know.

X-Men: First Class is due out June 3rd.  The film stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, January Jones, Rose Byrne, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Oliver Platt, and Kevin Bacon.  Hit the jump for the film’s synopsis.  Click here for a rumored description of the trailer.

Here’s the official synopsis for X-Men: First Class:

X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, following the classic Marvel mythology, charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga. Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Before they were archenemies, they were closest of friends, working together, with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known. In the process, a rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.

Did you guys review Green Hornet yet?

Checked it last night. Can’t get over how unnecessary the 3D was. What a jackass cash grab.

We should have a review up on Friday. I saw the film last night and thought the 3D was well-done, but still pointless. 3D has been burning out of control for over a year now.

Agreed. Kato spinning beer caps and a few explosions doesn’t justify the post-conversion, especially considering the price of admission.

End credits had the only worthwhile 3D.

I would suggest people make a concerted effort and boycott the shit out of pointless 3D, but I have a feeling these flicks will eventually supersaturate the market resulting in the trend imploding. Hollywood running something into the ground? Never!
