The Netherlands’ own Yorick van Wageningen (The Chronicles of Riddick) has joined David Fincher’s take on Stieg Larsson’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Per The Playlist, the Dutch actor will make a turn as Nils Bjurman, Lisbeth Salander’s (Rooney Mara) court-appointed guardian. In acquiring the role, Van Wageningen becomes part of a cast that not only includes Mara but also names such as Daniel Craig, Stellan Skarsgård, Robin Wright, and Joely Richardson.
Already in production, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo will continue filming in Los Angeles and Sweden throughout April-May. The film, which is being scored by Golden Globe-winner Trent Reznor, is currently scheduled to be released later this year on December 21st.
