YOU’RE NEXT Masked Killers Invade Los Angeles and NYC [UPDATED with Images from Texas, New Orleans, and More]

     July 31, 2013

Hang on, it’s not as terrifying as all that.  Well, it is a little.  The creepy masks from Lionsgate’s upcoming thriller, You’re Next, have been popping up all over LA and NYC.  Luckily, they’re only on inanimate statues for the moment, and not killers bent on making a bloody mess of a walk in the park.  We’ve put together a collection of images of these masks out in the public, but if you should happen to come across any, please send them in! (And then get the hell out of there because you have no idea if it’s safe!)

From horror anthology gurus – writer Simon Barrett and director Adam Wingard – You’re Next stars Sharni Vinson, Nicholas Tucci, Wendy Glenn, AJ Bowen, Joe Swanberg, Amy Seimetz, Ti West, Rob Moran and Barbara Crampton.  I had a chance to view the film at Comic-Con and it’s a must-see for thriller fans and general audiences alike.  Check it out in theaters starting August 23rd.  Hit the jump to view the creepified images. [Update: Some readers have sent in even more masked images from Dallas, Houston, New Orleans, and Detroit.]

Here’s the official synopsis You’re Next:

One of the smartest and most terrifying films in years, YOU’RE NEXT reinvents the genre by putting a fresh twist on home-invasion horror. When a gang of masked, ax-wielding murderers descend upon the Davison family reunion, the hapless victims seem trapped…until an unlikely guest of the family proves to be the most talented killer of all.
