The trailer for director George C. Wolfe’s new film You’re Not You has some incredible timing on its side. Thanks to the viral phenomenon of those ubiquitous ice bucket challenge videos, I think it’s safe to say that awareness for ALS is at an all-time high. The film stars Hilary Swank as a famous pianist who is stricken with the disease and hires an unconventional assistant, Emmy Rossum, to help her cope.
Going off the trailer, the film looks well made if not a little conventional. It’s hard for me to fault these kinds of movies for that though, we all need to find the uplifting elements in any tragic scenario I suppose. Hit the jump for the You’re Not You trailer. The film also stars Josh Duhamel, Marcia Gay Harden, Jason Ritter, Ali Larter, and Loretta Devina and opens in theaters and On Demand on October 10th.
