Zachary Quinto, Luke Wilson, Topher Grace and Johnny Galecki Accept THE INVITATION

     May 11, 2012

The ensemble cast of Zachary Quinto (Star Trek), Luke Wilson (Old School), Topher Grace (Take Me Home Tonight) and Johnny Galecki (The Big Bang Theory) have accepted The Invitation from director Karyn Kusama (Jennifer’s Body).  The thriller, scripted by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi (both of Clash of the Titans and the upcoming R.I.P.D.), centers around Will (Wilson) who receives an invitation from his estranged ex-wife to attend a dinner party.  However, things take a dark turn as Will becomes increasingly suspicious of his ex-wife’s guests, a group who harbors an insidious agenda.  The Invitation will begin principal photography in Los Angeles this summer.  Hit the jump for more.

The Invitation will be produced throughluke-wilson-the-invitation XYZ Films, a company which currently touts The Raid: Redemption in theaters via Sony Pictures Classics.  Martha Griffin (Girlfight) will also produce alongside Hay and Manfredi.  Check out the full synopsis below:

On a dark night, Will (Luke Wilson) is invited to his estranged ex-wife’s dinner party. Over the course of the evening, he is gripped by mounting evidence that something insidious has taken hold of his ex-wife, and that she and her new friends have a mysterious and horrifying agenda. By the end of the night, the ramifications of what happens in this house will spread far beyond its doors.

Wilson can be seen in the TV series, Enlightened and alongside Samuel L. Jackson in Meeting Evil, but his biggest upcoming project is, of course, a possible return to Anchorman 2. Quinto had recently wrapped shooting for the Untitled Star Trek Sequel and can be seen this fall in the second season of FX’s American Horror Story. Grace recently appeared in The Giant Mechanical Man and will be part of an awesome cast for The Wedding this October.
