First Teaser Trailer and Images for Kathryn Bigelow’s ZERO DARK THIRTY

A new teaser trailer and images from The Hurt Locker-director Kathryn Bigelow’s Zero Dark Thirty have gone online. The military drama looks to tell the story behind the story of Osama bin Laden’s death on May 2, 2011 during an operation by the Navy’s SEAL Team Six.  The trailer hints at a more intimate breakdown of the events leading up to bin Laden’s death rather than making it a more distant political thriller.

Zero Dark Thirty, written by Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker) and starring Chris Pratt, Jessica Chastain, Mark Strong, Scott Adkins, Joel Edgerton and Kyle Chandler opens December 19th.  Hit the jump to see the teaser trailer and images, and click here to read what Bigelow and Boal have to say about the film’s controversy, history, and characters.

    so this a fictional story obviously as bin laden is currently in florida soaking in the sun under the name of mike jones. its been proven that 911 was an inside job and the plan was to raid the middle east for control of the oil. just because people are fighting back they’re called ‘terrorists’? lol. HOW DARE PEOPLE SHOOT BACK WHILE WE BOMB THEIR HOMES, CHURCHES AND SCHOOLS!

    I thought that the story was largely fictional, seeing as the script was finished prior to Bin Laden’s death and only went through slight alterations before continuing with production.

    Not terribly sure _why_ anyone would make this movie. a) Those who think he’s still alive won’t go and see it b) Those who wanted him dead believe he _is_ dead and won’t spend money and time going to see a movie about it and c) Forgetting about the fact he was a terrorist… isn’t a movie about the real-life hate-led assassination of a human being (and therefore a celebration of it) slightly immoral, and doesn’t it just give more publicity to a terrible human being?
