Opening on November 7th is one of the last movies Bernie Mac made and it’s called “Soul Men.” The film is the story of Louis (Samuel L. Jackson) and Floyd (Bernie Mac), a popular singing duo back in the day, who went their separate ways and never spoke again. When the death of their former group leader (John Legend) reunites them and sends them driving cross country for a tribute concert at the legendary Apollo Theatre, they will have only five days to bury the hatchet on a twenty-year-old grudge.

Anyway, to help promote the movie, we’ve been provided with 4 movie clips as well as one of the last interviews Bernie did.

When a studio is promoting a film, they provide people with what’s called an EPK (electronic press kit). In the EPK are clips, trailers, behind the scenes footage and sometimes they provide generic interviews with the people who made the movie. In the EPK for “Soul Men,” there was an interview with Bernie…and since he’s not here to promote the film…I thought you’d like to hear what he had to say.

And one last thing before getting to the clips…while I was a bit nervous about “Soul Men” going in, the film is actually pretty dirty and it’ll surprise you. Bernie and Sam worked really well together and the film will definitely remind you why so many loved Bernie and his comedy. It’s not a bad last role for Bernie.

So here’s the clips and the interview with Bernie. Hope you like.
