Marvel’s A.K.A. Jessica Jones just picked up another cast member.  We’ve already got Krysten Ritter set to play the title character, Mike Colter on board to portray Luke Cage, David Tennant taking the role of the villain, Kilgrave, and now, according to Variety, Rachael Taylor is joining them as Jessica’s best friend, Trish Walker.

Taylor hasn’t really had the best run in the TV realm.  Her latest ventures, Charlie’s Angels, 666 Park Avenue and Crisis were all canceled after just one season and even though she did have a role in the colossal theatrical hit, Transformers, she’s been flying under the radar in the film sector ever since.  The Darkest Hour was a bit underwhelming and it’s unlikely many bought tickets to The Loft for this weekend.  On the bright side, Jessica Jones could be a game changer for her!

A.K.A. Jessica Jones picks up after Jessica’s short, unsuccessful run as a superhero.  Now she’s trying to rebuild her personal life and establish a career as a detective, taking on cases that involve “extraordinary” individuals in New York City.

Here’s Variety’s description of Taylor’s character:

“Trish Walker (Taylor), the best friend of Jessica (Ritter), is a syndicated radio talk show host, former model and child television star who’s best known to her fans as ‘Patsy’ Walker, based on the Marvel Comics character who appeared under the superhero identity of Hellcat. In the series, Trish will help Jessica embark on the most dangerous case of her career.”

The 13-episode show is due to premiere on Netflix sometime this year after the release of Daredevil on April 15th.
