Magnolia Pictures has released a new A Long Way Down trailer for director Pascal Chaumeil’s adaptation of the Nick Hornby novel of the same name.  The story revolves around a group of strangers who coincidentally meet on the top of a London skyscraper on New Year’s Eve where they individually had gone to commit suicide.  The four strangers make a pact to stay alive until Valentine’s Day, and the film follows this group of unlikely friends “as they try to pull back from the brink.”  While Hornby’s a great writer and the ensemble cast of Pierce Brosnan, Toni Collete, Aaron Paul, and Imogen Poots is promising, the film received pretty poor reviews upon its UK release.  This trailer is actually pretty charming, so maybe the film will turn out to be pleasantly surprising.
