The new Hulu Originals drama The Path may not reveal much about the plot by its title alone, but this first trailer sure does a bang-up job of getting the story across. Put simply, it’s about some everyday folks who become involved in a cult-like group known as the Meyerist Movement. But just as the clandestine group keeps their most precious secrets guarded, this trailer hints at the complexities that await viewers in this exploration of belief and faith, and how they affect their relationships.
This first look at the series is fantastic, and if you’re getting a strong Scientology vibe, you’re not alone. The ten-episode series is shepherded by executive producer Jason Katims, who you may recognize from Friday Night Lights and Parenthood, and features a strong core cast. Aaron Paul stars as Eddie, a conflicted husband; Michelle Monaghan plays his devoted wife Sarah; and Hugh Dancy appears to shine as Cal, the ambitious leader of the movement. If you’re a fan of any of the above-mentioned names, do yourself a favor and look for The Path on Hulu starting March 30th.
