Atlanta Readers: Win Passes to see A.C.O.D. Starring Adam Scott, Richard Jenkins, Catherine O’Hara, Amy Poehler, and Jane Lynch

     October 1, 2013

One of the funnier films I’ve seen this year is A.C.O.D.  The title stands for “Adult Children of Divorce” and stars Adam Scott as a guy who thinks he’s moved passed his parents cataclysmic divorce only to discover he’s created a fresh new hell by trying to get them to attend his brother’s wedding.  Scott carries the flick wonderfully, and he’s got a tremendous supporting cast featuring Richard Jenkins, Catherine O’Hara, Jane Lynch, Jessica Alba, Clark Duke, Ken Howard, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Amy Poehler.  This is a good comedy, and it shouldn’t get lost in the fall shuffle.

I’m pleased to announce we’re giving away 40 admit-two passes to A.C.O.D.  Hit the jump to find out how you can see the movie early and for free.  A.C.O.D. opens in Atlanta on October 18th.

To enter for a chance to get you and a guest into the movie, send an e-mail to with the subject line “ACOD”. The screening is on Thursday, October 10th at 7:30PM at Regal Atlantic Station, so don’t enter if you think you’ll be unavailable. Please note that a pass is not a ticket. To guarantee a seat, please arrive at the theater early since seating is first come, first serve.

In case you haven’t seen it, here’s the trailer:

And here’s the official synopsis:

A.C.O.D. follows Carter (Adam Scott), a seemingly well-adjusted Adult Child of Divorce. Having survived the madness of his parents (Richard Jenkins and Catherine O’Hara) divorce, Carter now has a successful career and supportive girlfriend (Mary Elizabeth Winstead). But when his younger brother (Clark Duke) gets engaged, Carter is forced to reunite his bitterly divorced parents and their new spouses (Amy Poehler and Ken Howard) for the wedding, causing the chaos of his childhood to return including his wacky therapist (Jane Lynch).
