When it was announced that Adam Driver would be hosting Saturday Night Live, I was very excited. I think the guy’s one of the most interesting actors working today, and he’s proven on Girls and films like What If that he’s also an impeccable comedic talent, so while he may at first seem an odd fit for SNL, I had high hopes for what may be to come. And now, as NBC has released the official promo for Driver’s hosting duties, my suspicions were confirmed: Driver is gonna make a great host.

The actor is paired with Ghostbusters star Kate McKinnon for the promos, and their chemistry is on point. Obviously we know there’s going to be some sort of Star Wars: The Force Awakens sketch given that Driver is the villain of the biggest movie of all time (domestically, to get technical), and there’s a brilliant Star Wars gag here that both Driver and McKinnon play perfectly.

Will there be some guest stars on this week’s episode, possibly some Star Wars alums, or will Driver be going solo? Either way I think we’re in for a treat. The actor is no doubt poised to return to London to shoot director Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: Episode VIII this spring, but he’s also got a few other exciting films on tap for release in 2016 like Martin Scorsese’s passion project Silence and Mud director Jeff Nichols’ sci-fi debut Midnight Special. He most recently wrapped the Jim Jarmusch pic Paterson and reprises his role as Adam on the upcoming season of HBO’s Girls, which begins production on its final season this summer.

Check out the SNL promo below. Driver’s episode of Saturday Night Live airs this Saturday, January 16th on NBC with musical guest Chris Stapleton.
