It seems like you’re either super into Adventure Time or think the show looks absolutely nuts. I’ve never seen a single episode, but the more I talk to friends who are fans of it, the more I lean towards giving it a shot. Plus, apparently now we’re getting an Adventure Time movie, so perhaps it’s vital that I finally jump into the Land of Ooo and try to wrap my head around the show's wide array of unusual characters.

The news comes from Deadline with the outlet reporting that Warner Bros. is developing a big screen version of the hit Cartoon Network show. Adventure Time centers on Finn, a 12-year-old boy who dreams of becoming a great hero, and Jake, Finn’s wise, old dog with a big heart who has the ability to stretch and grow. Together, the pair defends the Land of Ooo from evil folks like the Ice King (voiced by Tom Kenny) while also running into loads of curious characters including Boobafina, Flame King (voiced by Keith David), Evil Guy (voiced by Mark Hamill), Lumpy Space Princess (voiced by Ward) and Marceline the Vampire Queen (voiced by Olivia Olson and Cloris Leachman).

No word on who’s directing the Adventure Time film just yet, but the show’s creator, Pendleton Ward, will have a hand in writing and producing the feature version, and Cartoon Network Studios will be involved, too.

Chris McKay likely has his hands full prepping to direct The Lego Batman Movie and Roy Lee is probably even busier producing Ninjago, Lego Batman and The Lego Movie Sequel amongst many other projects, but both will serve as producers on Adventure Time as well.
