Amongst the samplings of Marvel and DC properties currently available on cable, Agent Carter has set the bar in terms of thoughtful and stylish aesthetic, even if the narrative didn't always live up to the handsome look of the series. Still, the show's first season proved just as amiable as The Flash, DC's most entertaining TV production, anchored by the hugely talented Hayley Atwell, an axiom of the Captain America franchise and a stand-out in the underrated Jimi: All is by My Side.

Now, we've got our first trailer for Agent Carter Season 2, which relocates Carter's anti-Hydra operations to the West Coast, where she seems to be doing just as much ass-kicking as she did in New York, with Jarvis (James D'Arcy) by her side. Whether or not this will mean the show gets more inventive in its procedural episodes, and less heavy-handed in its season-long, MCU-tinged arc, is another matter altogether, but I'm cautiously optimistic that some California sun will do Carter a lot of good.
