Disney Animation Studios has been an experiencing a resurgence for the past several years, and while that’s largely in part to good stories and characters, they may have a lucky charm in Alan Tudyk. The actor has been lending his voice to play bad guys for their last three movies, Wreck-It Ralph, Frozen, and Big Hero 6, and all of those movies have been huge hit.
We recently spoke to Tudyk at Comic-Con for his upcoming show Con Man, and asked if he would be returning for Disney’s next two animated films, Zootopia and Moana. Here’s what he told us:
-
We don’t know if he’ll continue to play red herrings or primary villains, but it’s good to know that the talented actor will be contributing to the studio’s upcoming features.
For those who are unfamiliar with Zootopia, here’s the synopsis:
In the animal city of Zootopia, a fast-talking fox who’s trying to make it big goes on the run when he’s framed for a crime he didn’t commit. Zootopia’s top cop, a self-righteous rabbit, is hot on his tail, but when both become targets of a conspiracy, they’re forced to team up and discover even natural enemies can become best friends.
And here’s the synopsis for Moana:
In the ancient South Pacific world of Oceania, Moana, a born navigator, sets sail in search of a fabled island. During her incredible journey, she teams up with her hero, the legendary demi-god Maui, to traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous sea creatures, breathtaking underworlds and ancient folklore.
Zootopia opens March 4, 2016; Moana opens November 23, 2016.
