In case your children's Christmas toys weren't terrifying enough for you, Mezco Toyz has officially released a figure of one of horror's most iconic monsters: the Xenomorph, the creature from Ridley Scott's Alien franchise. Reimagining the monster with a clear head and body, the new figure mirrors the original design of artist H.R. Giger, whose work on the Xenomorph and other similar pieces were featured heavily in the science-fiction franchise.

This Xenomorph scale model features the character's original traslucent design, as it was initially meant to be seen on-screen. (Repeated attempts to create a translucent version of the monster failed during production, with multiple issues of the latex costume tearing, before the production created a black latex version for 6’10" actor Bolaji Badejo, who portrayed the monster in the film.) While the black design would go on to be a staple across the Alien franchise, Mezco has opted for Giger's original design for the new deluxe figure.

The figure will consist of Giger's "semiopaque, milky look" design for the creature, along with "a hinged jaw with interchangeable inner mouths, as well as an interchangeable chest plate pierced by the ASSO-400 Harpoon Grappling Gun, as seen in the final scene of the movie". In addition, the figure will come with six interchangeable hands, a chestburster, two facehuggers, three interchangeable inner mouths, and two ovomorph eggs.

The last time the Xenomorph was seen was the prequel Alien: Covenant in 2017, which was the last installment of the film franchise. Whether the Xenomorph will appear in Noah Hawley's Alien series for FX is anyone's guess, but fans can check out the new translucent Xenomorph figure on Mezco's website.
