Sony Pictures has released a final theatrical trailer for director Marc Webb's upcoming sequel The Amazing Spider-Man 2.  The follow-up finds Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) surrounded by antagonistic forces as Electro (Jamie Foxx) emerges, Parker’s old friend Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan) returns to New York City, and everyone seems to have a connection to the shady goings-on at Oscorp.  This trailer would probably be a bit more exciting if Sony hadn't previously released an overwhelming amount of trailers, clips, and images (keep in mind that the movie is still six weeks away), but there's still plenty of action and a heavier emphasis on Harry Osborne/Green Goblin even though Electro is the main villain.  The movie looks good; I just wish the studio hadn't already shown us so much of it.

Here's the official synopsis for The Amazing Spider-Man 2:

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: Oscorp.
