The new trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man will go online later today, but before it does, Sony has released two new images of the film's baddie, The Lizard (Rhys Ifans).  For non-geeks, here's a little background on the character: Dr. Curt Connors is a one-armed scientist who tries to use science (nothing good ever came of that!) to regrow his lost limb.  The experiment goes horribly wrong, and Connors transforms into a horrible reptile monster.Hit the jump to check out the images, click here for some new posters, and be sure to keep checking back for the trailer later today.  The film also stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Denis Leary, Sally Field, and Martin Sheen.  The Amazing Spider-Man opens in 3D on July 3rd.Images via Apple.amazing-spider-man-movie-image-lizard-1amazing-spider-man-movie-image-lizardHere's the official synopsis for The Amazing Spider-Man:
