Per Deadline, Anna Kendrick and Sam Rockwell will lead the romantic comedy Mr. Right, which revolves around a woman whose bad luck streak ends when she finally meets “Mr. Right”, only to find out that he’s a reformed hit man.  As his dark past resurfaces, the two are tasked with saving each other in the midst of their fledgling relationship.  Chronicle scribe Max Landis wrote the script and Tokarev helmer Paco Cabezas is onboard to direct.  While the logline is rather derivate, the immense talent and charm of the two leads bodes very well for this promising indie.

Additionally, Variety reports that Emma Thompson, Nick Offerman, and Kristen Schaal have joined the cast of director Ken Kwapis’ (He’s Just Not That Into You) adaptation of the Billy Bryson memoir A Walk in the Woods.  Robert Redford and Nick Nolte star as two old friends who attempt to walk the Appalachian Trail.  The project has been percolating for some time with a number of directors circling the project (including Richard Linklater and Redford himself), but it finally looks like it will go in front of cameras this summer.  Toy Story 3 scribe Michael Arndt wrote the script.

Finally, in the run-up to the Cannes Film Festival market, The Great Beauty director Paolo Sorrentino is putting together the cast for his next film.  Variety reports that Rachel Weisz, Harvey Keitel, and Paul Dano have joined Michael Caine in Youth, which revolves around two old friends on vacation in the Alps who decide to face their future mortality together.  Sorrentino is coming off a Best Foreign Langauge Film Oscar win for The Great Beauty, so Youth comes with a certain degree of anticipation.  Filming begins this month.
