We now know who will be providing the original scores for all of this year’s superhero movie releases.  While Oscar-winning Gravity composer Steven Price was originally set to score Marvel’s Ant-Man, he departed the project when Edgar Wright exited the director’s chair (they worked together on The World’s End).  Nevertheless, Film Music Reporter revealed today that Marvel and director Peyton Reed have enlisted composer Christophe Beck to take care of the score.  Beck has plenty of experience with commercial fare, having composed the scores for films as varied as The Hangover, Frozen, and most recently Edge of Tomorrow.  In addition to Ant-Man, his 2015 slate includes Terminator: Genisys, Hot Tub Time Machine 2, and Peanuts.  The Marvel superhero pic opens in theaters on July 17th.

Find out who’s composing the score for Fox’s The Fantastic Four after the jump.

It’s been kind of a running joke that we know absolutely nothing about Fox’s The Fantastic Four despite the fact that it’s coming out in eight months, but we do know the film’s composer.  Film Music Reporter has also revealed that the very talented Marco Beltrami has been tapped to pen the original score for the superhero reboot, directed by Josh Trank and starring Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Bell, and Toby Kebbell.

Beltrami is currently in the awards mix for his beautiful work on the underrated Western The Homesman, and his credits include The Hurt Locker, Snowpiercer, and the AMC TV series Turn.  He’s also a composer familiar with big commercial fare, having composed the scores for The Wolverine, World War Z, and Live Free or Die Hard.  His 2015 output will also include the Sean Penn-fronted thriller The Gunman and the video game adaptation Hitman: Agent 47.

The Fantastic Four opens in theaters on August 7th.
