ArcLight Is ‘Hitting the High Note’ in Conversations with Oscar-Nominated Composers

If you love movie music and want to hear from some amazing composers, you may want to make your way to the ArcLight Cinemas if you’re in the L.A. area. The ArcLight has announced “ArcLight Presents…Hitting the High Note, which “offers ArcLight guests the opportunity to delve into the intersection of film and music with the maestros who orchestrate the musical journey to the directors’ cinematic vision.” The series will feature conversations with the composers who were nominated this year for Best Original Score. That means you’ll have the opportunity to hear from Ludwig Göransson (Black Panther), Terence Blanchard (BlacKkKlansman), Marc Shaiman (Mary Poppins Returns), and Nicholas Britell (If Beale Street Could Talk). All screenings and conversations will be at the ArcLight Cinemas – Hollywood at 6360 Sunset Boulevard.

Wednesday, February 13th: “Black Panther” Screening and
Conversation with Oscar ® -nominated Composer Ludwig Göransson
Time: 7:30pm

Movie: “Black Panther” —T’Challa, heir to the hidden but advanced
kingdom of Wakanda, must step forward to lead his people into a new future
and must confront a challenger from his country’s past.

Thursday, February 14th: “Blackkklansman” Screening and
Conversation with Oscar ® -nominated Composer Terence Blanchard
Time: 7:30pm

Movie: “Blackkklansman” —Ron Stallworth, an African-American police
officer from Colorado, successfully managed to infiltrate the local Ku Klux
Klan and became the head of the local chapter.

Friday, February 15th: “Mary Poppins Returns” Screening and
Conversation with Oscar ® -nominated Composer Marc Shaiman
Time: 7:30pm

Movie: “Mary Poppins Returns” —Decades after her original visit, the
magical nanny returns to help the Banks siblings and Michael's children
through a difficult time in their lives.

Monday, February 18th: “If Beale Street Could Talk” Screening and
Conversation with Oscar ® -nominated Composer Nicholas Britell &
