The newest film in Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead universe recently released a short teaser clip for the newly released prequel Army of Thieves. It stars Matthias Schweighöfer as Sebastian/Dieter, German safecracker; Nathalie Emmanuel as Gwendoline; Stuart Martin as Brad; Ruby O. Fee as Korina; and Guz Khan as Rolph. In it, Dieter—who is addressed as "Sebastian" for reasons that aren't readily apparent in the clip—is being introduced to his fellow heistmates.

In the minute-long clip, it starts out with Dieter perplexed at the idea that Gwendoline and her three compatriots Karina, Brad, and Rolfe are the only members of the International Heisting Crew. She counters his incredulity with one short, factual statement: "the size of our crew is precisely why we don't get caught." There's a brief conversation in which Dieter asks Gwendolyn if their heist will be just like the movies where each member uses their own particular skillset in order to pull off the robbery. She responds to him in the affirmative, introducing him to the rest of the crew as a "safecracker extraordinaire" who will be utilizing his theoretical skills for the first time in the real world. Dieter says hello with a goofy, two-handed wave to everyone in the room.

Since the movie is a prequel to the events which happen in Army of the Dead, audiences shouldn't expect any big cameos by any of the other actors in the franchise. Also, for better or worse, don't expect too many zombies, either. In the universal timeline of the franchise, Army of Thieves happens during the early days of the zombie apocalypse. Think of it more as a heist movie that just happens to have zombies in the background more so than a zombie flick that the original movie is. Although Snyder was supposed to direct the film in the beginning, he gave Schweighöfer the opportunity to direct instead so that Snyder could free up his own schedule for other cinematic obligations.

Army of Thieves is on Netflix now. Check out the clip where Sebastian meets Gwendoline's heisting crew below:
