We’ve seen Arnold Schwarzenegger save the day time and time again, but there’s no coming out on top in the situation he finds himself in in Maggie. Schwarzenegger leads as Wade, a loving father trying to care for his family during a zombie outbreak who finds out that his daughter has been bitten. Even though Maggie (Abigail Breslin) is destined to deteriorate, he insists on risking his own life so that they can spend the last few weeks she has left together.

Shortly after Maggie celebrated its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, I got the opportunity to chat with Schwarzenegger and Joely Richardson who steps in as Caroline, Maggie’s step mother, about their experience making the film. Schwarzenegger revealed why he would have had a tough time making this movie 30 years ago, what his primary duty was as a producer on the film and also shared some memories from his lengthy career including moments from Twins and The Expendables. Catch all that and more in the video interview below.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Joely Richardson:

  • Schwarzenegger on relating to the material.
  • What he was responsible for as a producer on the film.
  • Richardson on steering clear of making Caroline an “evil step mother” and making her human.
  • Schwarzenegger recalls fond memories from his lengthy career including moments from Twins and Expendables.
