If you want me to pay attention to your movie, all you have to do is include the word "apocalyptic" somewhere in the description.  Aron Eli Coleite (Heroes) did just that with his spec script The End.  And while I'm sure Coleite is grateful for my approval, the attention of Warner Bros. is much more valuable since they bought the spec.  Deadline provides the synopsis:

"The film focuses on three completely different storylines that are interconnected by the fact that the players in each one are trying to reconcile the fact that the world is going to end. There is a veteran broadcast in London, a 16-year old girl and her boyfriend in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and a devoted family man in Shanghai. They each try to make peace with their lives before an interstellar event ends the world in just six hours."

This sounds more drama than thriller, the customary genre for apocalyptic stories.  But as I said, I'm in no matter what, 'cause it's the apocalypse.
