With Supergirl now on The CW, the Berlantiverse of the network was quick to plan an epic four-way crossover episode with its DC superhero series, including Arrow, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow. EW revealed the cover for its special issue delving behind the scenes of this cataclysmic event, and now we have the first look by way of a recently released trailer and new batch of images.

The CW announced the aliens known as The Dominators will be the villains, and that tidbit helps us decipher some of these photos. Among the new looks, we see a line-up of heroes, including Green Arrow (Stephen Amell), Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), Citizen Steel (Nick Zano), Vixen (Maisie Richardson-Sellers), Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell), The Atom (Brandon Routh), and more. We also see Cisco (Carlos Valdes) shaking hands with Kara and a sisterly reunion between Sara (Caity Lotz) and Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy), but perhaps the most telling image involves Diggle (David Ramsey).

The Flash (Grant Gustin) and Arrow are shown hiding behind a wall, seemingly shielding themselves from Diggle’s gunfire. That leads us to believe there will be some alien mind control element involved. EW writer Jeff Jensen already hinted as much in the preview for the issue:

We got to see Supergirl fly, The Flash and Cisco tear a hole in the fabric of space-time (or pretend to), and even saw someone get shot. No, we can’t tell you who, but we can tell you the threat that set the sprawling plot in motion: The Dominators, mind-controlling extraterrestrials threatened by Earth’s surging population of metahumans. If you’re wondering if “mind-control” = “we’re totally going to see these superheroes fight each other,” then you’re absolutely [REDACTED].
