Last August, during WWE’s SummerSlam, Arrow star Stephen Amell put his vigilante training to work in the squared circle. Rather than just grandstanding and putting in an appearance for the fans, Amell actually held his own alongside the professional wrestling superstars and even developed a “real-world” antagonist in wrestler Cody Rhodes, a.k.a. Stardust. Unfortunately, with Rhodes leaving the WWE behind for other pursuits, fans won’t get to see a rematch between the athletes in the ring. However, Rhodes will be bringing his particular talents to The CW in an upcoming episode of Arrow.
As Rhodes himself confirmed over social media, he’ll be showing up in Season 5 of the CW superhero series that sees Amell in the title role. With the tables turned, there’s probably little chance for Rhodes getting a fair fight in Star City, but hopefully he’ll get a few shots in before the episode’s third act. Maybe he’ll even stick around a little longer?

The news originally broke during the Heroes and Villains FanFest in Secaucus, New Jersey where Amell had the following to say:
“I’m so fired up.”
True, not much to go on, but it’s clear that these guys like working together, so it’ll be cool to see them flip the scripts and bring Rhodes into the studio away from the live audience. As for what he teased would happen in the episode, Rhodes, said:
“You can probably expect Stephen and I to get into another fight.”
We don’t have any character details for Rhodes at the moment, and we’re not sure which episode he’ll appear in just yet, though a TV Line write-up says it will be the third episode of Season 5, which debuts October 5th on The CW. Here’s more from Rhodes and Amell regarding the upcoming episode of Arrow in which they’ll clash once more:
