A new Ash vs Evil Dead trailer should make any fans still on the fence leap into certainty. The half-hour horror/comedy series will premiere October 31st (of course) on Starz, with Bruce Campbell back at the helm as Ash. “Evil is always waiting in the shadows, and only one man would rise to stand against it." Get the boomstick!

With so many remakes and reboots in the works, it’s worth noting that Ash vs Evil Dead seems to have gotten it right as far as matching the tone and mayhem of the original movie. Yet, it also looks to have plenty of its own unique flourishes. This trailer also gives us a glimpse not only of the copious gore of the series, but also of a few jokes, silly humor, and also of Lucy Lawless driving like a bat out of hell. Also, the mid-air chainsaw arm lock is utterly perfect. Check it out here:

Here’s the official synopsis for Ash vs. Evil Dead:

Campbell will be reprising his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead.  When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons –personal and literal.  Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its “Evil” grip.
