Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past few months, you’ve heard pretty much everyone raving about how great Joe Cornish’s Attack the Block is.  Co-produced by Edgar Wright, the film premiered at SXSW back in March and was met with wildly enthusiastic acclaim (here's Scott's review).  Steve also caught the film and says it’s one of his favorite films of the year. While the flick won’t be hitting theaters in the U.S. until later this year, the filmmakers are going to be holding advanced screenings in 25 North American cities on May 25th. They’re calling it “25 on 25 – Attack The Block Fan Appreciation Screenings.”  To reserve your tickets (which will sell out incredibly fast) click here.  Hit the jump for more information.attack-the-block-movie-poster-uk-quadAttack the Block will be screening in the following 25 cities on May 25th:

Here’s the official synopsis:

ATTACK THE BLOCK follows a gang of tough inner-city kids who rob Sam (Whittaker) as she is walking home in a scary South London tower block.  She flees when the gang is attacked by a small alien creature which falls from the sky.  While Sam and the police hunt for the gang, a second wave of creatures falls.  The gang grabs weapons, mount bikes, and set out to defend their turf.  But this time, the creatures are much bigger.  Savage and bestial, nothing will stand in their way. And the bunch of no-hope kids who just attacked Sam are about to become her only hope.
