About Chris Sasaguay
When Chris isn’t working on a new article or exploring the best nature spots nearby, he's gotten into making TikTok edits. While he works on other personal projects, he has turned his attention to these edits for social media. They can be just for fun or get a little weird, but each one is to dust off his editing skills.
Rainy movie scenes set to a Spanish indie pop for a cozy vibe. A Mission: Impossible crossover with Halloween -- it somehow works with all the stunts Jamie Lee Curtis got put through. And a Saltburn theater reaction where not every dramatic theatergoer clutched their pearls, some understood it the erotic thriller it was. These are just to name a few.
Industry Experience
Chris has interned at various production companies in the New York City area, where he did script coverage and helped with live shoots. He loves finding work in this industry, finding any gig he can so he can continue to be around people who can talk about movies/TV and without taking it too seriously.
He does prefer work that have him be hands-on or be creative. He recently completed Production Assistant work for a low-budget movie with a strange plot (just trust him on that key word), and is currently helping to screen submissions for the Big Apple Film Festival.
Author Details
Chris Sasaguay is a Features Writer for Collider. For TV, he has freqeuntly written about True Detective and Friends. For movies, the horror genre is always a focus, but he also has written about queer cinema, and has done articles about fantastic actresses like Julia Roberts, Lily Gladstone, and Michelle Yeoh.
In addition to Collider, he has bylines with Dread Central and Grave Reviews, which just so happens to be the first place that let him publish his writing during a college internship. No matter where he writes, he will share his opinion for why Rebecca Ferguson's fate in a certain spy franchise was a misfire, why Murder, She Wrote is a great whodunit that can be cozy or creepy, and anything else that stirs up in his head.
Favorite Media
Chris' favorite movies are The Birdcage, Rear Window, and Beetlejuice, but narrowing it down to just these three was a difficult task. They do help to describe some of his favorite things to watch: LGBTQ stories, murder mysteries, and spooky fun. He hopes Xavier Dolan doesn't retire from directing! Go watch his films if you haven't, he loves Dolan's use of pop music and highly stylized, dream-like moments.
His favorite TV shows to rewatch are The Golden Girls and Fringe, two that were important ones when he was growing up. Currently, the TV shows he keeps up with are American Horror Story, The White Lotus, Chucky, and Stranger Things.
