About Maggie Boccella
Maggie Boccella is certified Babe With the Power and lover of all things pop culture. She’s a News Editor at Collider, as well as a Rotten Tomatoes and The Cherry Picks approved critic, who specializes in feminist media and writing on out-of-this-world titles like Good Omens, Doctor Who, Top Gun: Maverick, and Willow.
She loves exploring new places, including traveling for festivals like the Overlook Film Festival, as well as writing about how much she loves Frank Castle and David Bowie and how she’ll defend the Eighth Doctor to the ends of the multiverse. She’s down to clown with anything campy and ridiculous, but you can also find her reviewing thought-provoking projects like The Starling Girl, Annika, and Mister Organ. She’ll always blank when you ask her who the coolest person she’s interviewed is, but the list includes names like Val Kilmer, Paul Williams, Mike Flanagan, Jon Bernthal, Rick Riordan, Corey Feldman, Nicolas Cage, Taskmaster's Greg Davies & Alex Horne, Fall Out Boy's Patrick Stump, Cyndi Lauper, and David Tennant, the latter of which her Doctor Who-obsessed family will never get over.
Her work has also appeared in places like Certified Forgotten and Blossom Mag, as well as on podcasts like Casterly Talk, and her own shows: Does It Get the Pass?, where she dissects the history and common tropes of the romantic comedy with fellow writer Rebecca Radillo, and Girlies for McGann, where she and co-host Katie York systematically break down the filmography of actor Paul McGann.
When not waist-deep in pop culture, she dabbles in photography, fiction writing, and practicing her non-existent lightsaber skills.

Industry Experience
Maggie's work has also appeared in places like Certified Forgotten and Blossom Mag, as well as on podcasts like Casterly Talk, and her own shows: Does It Get the Pass?, where she dissects the history and common tropes of the romantic comedy with fellow writer Rebecca Radillo, and Girlies for McGann, where she and co-host Katie York systematically break down the filmography of actor Paul McGann. She's also covered numerous film festivals in person and virtually, most notably hanging with fellow horror fanatics at Overlook Film Festival.
Favorite Media
Maggie's first love is rom-coms, which she grew up on from a young age and now analyzes professionally. Her favorites include Set It Up, Notting Hill, Love Bites, and What a Way to Go!. She's also a fanatic for schlocky horror comedies, including Chopping Mall and Slumber Party Massacre 2, but is down for anything spooky and scary, including titles like Late Night With the Devil and Brooklyn 45.
She grew up on police procedurals, but you can now usually find her watching mostly British panel shows, including QI, Taskmaster, and old reruns of Mock the Week (RIP).
