Variety gloriously
reports that the Avellan Twins will return in Machete Kills as the kick-ass nurses, Mona and Lisa. The Avellans join Jessica Alba, Sofia Vergara, Michelle Rodriguez and Amber Heard in the sequel. The duo previously played the Crazy Babysitter twins in Rodriguez's Planet Terror and Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof. Machete Kills follows the titular ex-Federale (Trejo) who is recruited by the President of the United States (Charlie Sheen) to track down an arms dealer (Mel Gibson) before he can launch nuclear weapons. Look for the sequel sometime in 2013.
Deadline reports that Leachman is set to star as the mother of Penelope Ann Miller's character in Raging Bull 2. Leachman has The Oogieloves and the Big Balloon Adventure, Gambit and Adult World due out within the next year. Raging Bull 2, which is not associated with Martin Scorsese or Robert De Niro, explores the life of middleweight champion boxer Ray LaMotta before and after the events of Raging Bull. The picture, which recently went into production, stars William Forsythe, Mojean Aria, Joe Mantegna, Paul Sorvino and Natasha Henstridge.
Also from Deadline comes word that Garcia is the latest addition aboard The Internship. Levy directs Vaughn and Wilson as two out-of-work salesmen who try to reinvent themselves by taking an internship at a cutting edge tech company. Garcia, who will star opposite Justin Kirk in the new NBC comedy Animal Practice, is set to play Vaughn's girlfriend in the film.
