When Collider visited the set of Avengers: Age of Ultron in London, Steve and a few other reporters witnessed Chris Hemsworth and Paul Bettany film a fight scene between Thor and the newly birthed Vision. Along the way to the big screen, this was greatly cut down to a brief tumble that ended almost as quickly as it began. Thanks to some newly released deleted footage, you can see some of what those on set saw way back when.

The video begins with what we’ve previously seen — a brief scuffle between Team Captain America (Steve Rogers, Scarlet Witch, and Quicksilver) and Team Iron Man (Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, and Hawkeye) before Thor flies in to zap life into Vision. What we haven’t seen is the pair’s ensuing tumble through the lab as the android flexes his array of abilities, including phasing through Cap’s shield and firing off beams from the Mind Stone on his forehead.

Clearly the special effects were never fully fleshed out, but you can get an idea of what it might’ve looked like in the video below [via Marvel]:

For better or worse, this is one of many scenes that were left on the cutting room floor after Joss Whedon and Marvel came up with the final theatrical cut. Some others were Thor’s extended scene with the mysterious pool and Loki’s cameo in Thor’s witchy vision. Thanks to the Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 2 Collection, tons more materials are being released, including Loki wielding his brother’s hammer in an illusion sequence and Chris Pratt and Dave Bautista’s screen test for Guardians of the Galaxy.

Vision will return in Captain America: Civil War on May 6, 2016, while we won’t see Thor again until he headlines his third solo film, Thor: Ragnarok, on July 28, 2017. Hopefully the Asgardian will get along better with Hulk.
