Let me start off by saying how much I laughed while watching Bad Moms. While I should have expected a really funny movie since it was written and directed by The Hangover writers Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, I’ll admit the NSFW dialogue and raunchy humor was a lot dirtier than I expected. If you want to see a very funny movie this weekend, I’d recommend this one.
If you’re not familiar with the story, Bad Moms stars Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, and Kathryn Hahn as three over-stressed moms on a mission to liberate themselves from conventional responsibilities by going on a wild binge of bad behavior and self-indulgence, a decision that puts them at odds with the local uptight PTA moms led by Christina Applegate, Jada Pinkett Smith and Annie Mumolo.
To help promote the film, I recently landed an exclusive interview with Applegate and Mumolo. They talked about who ruined the most takes, their first day filming, what it’s like trying to make a movie when you’re really sick with the flu, and a lot more. Check out what they had to say in the video above; below, you’ll find a list of talking points followed by the official Bad Moms synopsis.
Christina Applegate and Annie Mumolo:
- Who ruined the most takes?
- Were they doing a lot of alt takes while filming?
- How did the script change during production?
-
- They talk about their first day filming.
Here’s the official Bad Moms synopsis:
In this new comedy from the writers of THE HANGOVER, Amy has a seemingly perfect life – a great marriage, over-achieving kids, beautiful home and a career. However she’s over-worked, over-committed and exhausted to the point that she’s about to snap. Fed up, she joins forces with two other over-stressed moms on a quest to liberate themselves from conventional responsibilities – going on a wild, un-mom-like binge of long overdue freedom, fun and self-indulgence – putting them on a collision course with PTA Queen Bee Gwendolyn and her clique of devoted perfect moms.
