The Christmas holidays are usually decorated with a little bit of red and a little bit of green. The red-band trailer for the Billy Bob Thornton sequel Bad Santa 2 complete with a whole lot of swearing was released two days ago; now, it's time for the green band trailer, which saw release today courtesy of Broad Green Pictures and Miramax.

The sequel brings back Thornton's Willie Soke as he puts the Santa gear on again to rob a Chicago charity. Former partner Marcus (Tony Cox) is back, as is the "chubby kid" Thurman Merman (Brett Kelly) from the first movie; this time, Willie must also work with his estranged mother, played by a tattooed Kathy Bates.

Check out the green-band-trailer below:

Compared to the red-band, the green-band trailer--"approved for all audiences"--features a whole lot less profanity and no outdoor sexual violation for Christina Hendricks' character who runs the charity. The green-band variation also contains more previously-unseen clips that show it's not just a collection of foul-mouthed zingers, and Kathy Bates as Willie's mother Sunny Soke, whether cursing or not, seems to be a welcome addition to the franchise. Bad Santa 2 may come 13 years after the original, but if it's successful, it will have the same bite and tone as the first film. Insults are still being flung and Santa vs. Santa fights are aplenty, the new trailer just doesn't have as much of the language.

In addition to Thornton, Cox, Bates, and Hendricks, Bad Santa 2 will star Ryan Hansen (Veronica Mars). Mark Waters directed Bad Santa 2 from a script by Shauna Cross, Doug Elin, Johnny Rosenthal, and John Phillips. Broad Green Pictures will be releasing the film November 23, 2016 in the United States.

Here’s the official synopsis for Bad Santa 2:

BAD SANTA 2 returns Academy Award®-winner BILLY BOB THORNTON to the screen as America’s favorite anti-hero, Willie Soke. Fueled by cheap whiskey, greed and hatred, Willie teams up once again with his angry little sidekick, Marcus (TONY COX), to knock off a Chicago charity on Christmas Eve. Along for the ride is ‘the kid’ – chubby and cheery Thurman Merman (BRETT KELLY), a 250-pound ray of sunshine who brings out Willie’s sliver of humanity.

Mommy issues arise when the pair are joined by Academy Award®, Golden Globe and Emmy-winner KATHY BATES, as Willie’s horror story of a mother, Sunny Soke. A super butch super bitch, Sunny raises the bar for the gang’s ambitions, while somehow lowering the standards of criminal behavior. Willie is further burdened by lusting after the curvaceous and prim Diane, played by Emmy Award-nominee CHRISTINA HENDRICKS, the charity director with a heart of gold and libido of steel.

You better watch out: BAD SANTA 2 is coming to town.
