This past June at E3, Rocksteady and Warner Bros. announced Batman: Arkham VR, which would utilize the upcoming PlayStation VR headset for an entirely new Batman game. Fans at Comic-Con actually got to try out the game, and their reactions have been paired with a smattering of new footage to create a new trailer.

Unsurprisingly, no one takes off the VR headset and goes, “It’s fine, I guess.” They all love the feeling of pretending like they’re Batman, and I can understand that appeal. The question remains, however, “Is this a full-fledged VR experience or is this just regular Batman with a VR coating that doesn’t really take advantage of this new technology because developers are still learning this new language”?

What I find encouraging is what other may find discouraging: according to Kotaku, Batman: Arkham VR is short. It’s only about an hour (thankfully, the game only costs $19.99, so it’s not like they’re charging full price for such a short experience), which means that Rocksteady is dipping its toe in the waters of VR rather than trying to tackle a full-length game. I’d rather Rocksteady nail a shorter experience that can be improved upon for future games rather than struggle at making a longer game.

Check out the new Batman: Arkham VR trailer below. The game will be available exclusively for the PlayStation 4 with PlayStation VR in October 2016.  There's no word yet if the game will make its way to other VR platforms.

Here’s the official synopsis for Batman: Arkham VR:
