Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is changing up the current look of their DC Comics properties with a new animated adventure that pays homage to the 1960s Batman series in a number of ways. Not only does the animation, style, and humor of Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders pull directly from the campy-yet-beloved live-action series, it also features the voice work of original actors Adam WestBurt Ward, and Julie Newmar.

And while fans will be able to check out this latest animated feature once it arrives on home movie release in October/November, there's also a one-night-only theatrical release on the way. Thanks to Fathom Events, which found success with the theatrical release of the recent animated feature Batman: The Killing Joke, the new movie will air in theaters for three exclusive showings on Monday, October 10 at 2:00 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. local time. Audiences will also get to see "an exclusive pre-screening introduction, and a post-screening preview of “Those Dastardly Desperados,” a featurette that explores how the Bat-villains became American pop culture icons."

Check out the trailer below, along with the movie's synopsis and some new images (via IGN). Be sure to pick up Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders on Digital HD on October 11th or on Blu-Ray on November 1st.
