Marketing for Zack Snyder's hugely anticipated Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has been revving up as of late, with its March 25th release date seemingly right around the corner. This weekend brought us two brand new short trailers for the film, which pits Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne against Henry Cavill's Clark Kent, and now Empire has gone the super classy route and gifted us with an illustrated cover depicting the titular showdown. You can check out the full Empire cover image right below:

The limited edition illustrated cover is by Jim Lee, and the magazine will be out come March; it's being called a "collector's cover." It's interesting that though Batman has the big armor on that matches several of the images we've seen from the trailers and stills thus far, this illustrated Superman doesn't really look all that much like Cavill. It's more reminiscent of the more modern illustrated comics of Superman than anything else, but here I am, nitpicking. Lee has done some really nice work here and the black and white tones have a nice way of complimenting the more eschew moral compass of Snyder's film. Both Batman and Superman think they are righteous and good, but both of them are clearly willing to perform horrible (or maybe just wrongheaded) acts to do what they think is right for civilization. We'll have to wait to find out exactly what those particular acts are, but this is one of the more memorable moves that have been made in building up Snyder's blockbuster follow-up to Man of Steel.

Along with the cover, we've got some low-res images of the stills (via HH) that will be featured in the magazine, including a two-page spread of the Batmobile, new images of Affleck and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and some other goodies. You can check them out below:

Here's the official synopsis for Snyder's Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice:

Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs.  And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.
