We’ve seen promo shots of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman from director Zack Snyder’s highly anticipated Man of Steel follow-up Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but today the first images from the actual film have landed online, and they’re mighty tantalizing. One shows Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne and Gal Gadot’s Diana Prince (possibly) sharing a dance and looking fancy, while the other gives us a look at Jesse Eisenberg’s villainous Lex Luthor—with hair! In the first promo image of Luthor Eisenberg was bald, so one imagines he either shaves his head at some point in the film, or is wearing a wig to hide his “too-young-to-be-bald” noggin’.

Speaking with EW, which premiered the images (and also this great cover), Affleck compared his superhero character to a Shakespeare classic:

“Batman is basically the American version of Hamlet. We accept that he’s played by actors with different interpretations.”

Affleck goes on to reiterate that this version of Batman is more “mature” than any we’ve seen before:

“He’s at the end of his run and maybe the end of his life. There’s this sort of world-weariness to it.”

As for Superman, Cavill explains the difference in POVs between Man of Steel and BvS:

“I like to think that Man of Steel was the perspective of the world from Clark, Kal-El, looking at the world and trying to exist with in it. Batman v Superman is definitely more mankind’s perspective of Superman.”

But how does Diana Prince fit into all of this, and why is Batman hanging out with Wonder Woman? Just one of the many secrets we’ll find out when the film hits theaters on March 25, 2016. Look for much more from Batman v Superman over the next week leading up to the film’s Comic-Con panel next Saturday.
