Last week, we reported that while filming on Zack Snyder's Superman/Batman movie wouldn't truly get underway until early 2014, they would be using East Los Angeles College's Weingart Stadium to shoot a scene involving Gotham City University and Metropolis State University.  They shot their scene this past weekend during halftime, and Collider reader Vahn Gharakhani was good enough to send us some photos and video he took.  Gotham is the home team in this game, and my favorite part of the video is when someone in the stands shouts, "Metropolis sucks!" because that person really got into character.

Hit the jump to check out the photos, the videos, and some details you're going to want to take with a grain of salt.  The untitled Man of Steel sequel opens July 17, 2015.

Vahn also sent me an additional e-mail with this story:

As I was walking out to the restroom before the game. I ran into this very nice man who knew one of the players that were the extras on the Gotham home team. He said that Ben Affleck was indeed there. How does he know this? Because the extra he knew filmed a scene with Affleck earlier that day in the locker rooms before the crowd started arriving. He said the the scene was about Bruce Wayne giving a motivational speech to the team!

Not to cast doubt on Vahn, but to be clear: this was from a stranger who said he knew one of the extras, so that's two degrees removed from the source.  Also, Bruce Wayne having a reason to motivate a football team seems odd because while I can buy a dude who dresses up like a rodent and fights crime, I have trouble believing a ridiculously wealthy person would go down to a locker room to give a team a motivational speech.  We don't have superheroes in our world, but we do have billionaires, and they don't do that.  But if this scene is actually in the movie, I really hope the speech starts with, "So when my parents were gunned down in front of me when I was a child…"
