The world of the MCU is overflowing with super-powered individuals, most of whom united overcome Thanos (Josh Brolin), the ultimate threat to humanity. The remaining Phase One characters, The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), are now being joined by Phase Four characters Shang Chi (Simu Liu), Moon Knight (Oscar Isaac), and Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), meaning the earth has never been safer.RELATED: 5 Spoiler Heavy Lessons That Spider-Man Learned In 'No Way Home'That being said, it isn't only those gifted with magnificent abilities who keep the world safe. Each MCU hero is surrounded by a group of non-powered beings essential to their journey. After all, would Tony have been able to save the world without the support of Pepper Potts?

Ned Leeds - The Guy In The Chair spider-man-far-from-home-jacob-batalon-zendaya-angourie-rice

Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon) reacts exactly how anybody would if they discovered their best friend is a wall-crawling, web-slinging superhero: with ridiculous excitement levels and relentless questions. Ned is loyal, reliable, and eager to help his best friend Peter (Tom Holland) in any way he can.

Whether that's hacking Stark technology to disable the tracking device in Spider-Man's suit or using Doctor Strange's Sling Ring to open two portals and introduce Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire into the MCU. Though he currently doesn't remember who Peter is, there's no doubt he'll soon return to being Spider-Man's guy in the chair. How else would Spider-Man be able to save the day?

Jimmy Woo - And Flourish!

Jimmy Woo (Randall Park) first appeared in Ant-Man And The Wasp as the FBI agent tasked with ensuring Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) honors the terms of his house arrest. Woo was then assigned to a missing person case that brought him to Westview, the town that Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) was using as the set of her very own sitcom.

Despite limited appearances, Woo has quickly become a fan favorite, mainly because of his commitment to learning close-up magic after being so impressed with Scott's card trick. It's unclear at this point if Woo will return, but we'd all love to see agent Woo tackle some more mysterious happenings in the MCU. His own Disney+ show, perhaps?

Pepper Potts - What Can't She Do?

Gwyneth-Paltrow-Pepper-Potts-Avengers-Endgame

It's hard to settle on Pepper Potts' (Gwyneth Paltrow) most significant achievement in the MCU. She made Stark Industries one of the most successful companies in the world. She donned armor and helped to defeat Thanos. But even more impressive than both of those, she somehow managed to keep Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr) somewhat on the rails.

From her first appearance in Iron Man to her final appearance in Avengers: Endgame, Pepper was consistently strong, confident, and caring. Though it appears Paltrow is now finished with the role, here's hoping she changes her mind and returns to the character she made so likable.

Kate Bishop - Special Mention To Pizza Dog, Too

Kate Bishop holding a bow and arrow in Hawkeye

A relative newcomer to the world of the MCU, Kate Bishop joined the MCU in the Disney+ show Hawkeye. Kate was a young girl living in New York when Loki attacked the city in 2012, and the heroics of Clint Barton inspired her. Years later, and with years of archery training under her belt, Kate finds herself wrapped up in the fallout surrounding Ronin and his actions during The Blip.

Kate is the first Marvel character who truly loves being in the universe. She's excitable about missions, awestruck by her hero Hawkeye and unrelenting in her pursuit of justice, even if that means having to arrest her own Mother. She's not a bad shot, either.

Yelena Belova - The New Black Widow

Much like Kate Bishop, Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) is also a recent introduction to the MCU. Yelena, Natasha Romanoff's (Scarlett Johansson) younger sister, was introduced in Black Widow, fighting alongside her sister to take down the Black Widow program.

Yelena is easily one of the funniest MCU characters since Korg (Taika Waititi), and, like her sister, she's also a fierce and unforgiving fighter. While Yelena's next steps in the MCU are unclear, many fans are hoping that she'll unite with Kate Bishop once more, given the pair's incredible chemistry.

Shuri - The Smartest Person In The World

Being the most intelligent person in a room with Bruce Banner is no easy feat, but that doesn't stop Shuri (Letitia Wright) from making the gamma expert appear stupid in Avengers: Infinity War. Shuri has used vibranium to transform Wakanda into the technologically advanced utopia that it is today, creating revolutionary weapons, clothing, and gadgets.

After blipping away for five years, Shuri returned in Avengers: Endgame to help defeat the Mad Titan Thanos. Shuri will next be seen in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, although Letitia Wright sustained injuries on the set of the movie that delayed production by several weeks.

Happy Hogan - Iron Man's Bodyguard

Happy-Hogan-Iron-Man-3

Jon Favreau's Happy Hogan has been a mainstay in the MCU since Iron Man, which Favreau directed and starred in. As well as featuring in all three Iron Man films, Hogan has also appeared in all three Spider-Man solo movies and Avengers: Endgame, and hopefully, we'll see more of him soon too.

Happy's role in the films has changed as the MCU has progressed. Initially, he was a comedic character who took his role as Tony Stark's bodyguard a little too seriously, but he's become a more empathetic and understanding character since Tony's death. Given the role he played in Spider-Man: No Way Home, we're relieved he convinced Kevin Feige not to kill his character in Iron Man 3.

Clint Barton - He Just Doesn't Miss

hawkeye-movies-in-order

Jeremy Renner wasn't entirely happy with his character's role in The Avengers, given that he spent the majority of the film as a brainwashed minion of Loki (Tom Hiddleston). His fortunes within the MCU have changed drastically, though, with his own series premiering on Disney+ over the Christmas period.

Clint is easily the most grounded of The Avengers, operating without superpowers and with a loving family waiting for him to return home at the end of each mission. There's no confirmation yet whether Renner will reprise the role once again, but given the revelation that his wife Laura is Agent 19, it seems unlikely that his story is finished.

Natasha Romanoff - A Hero In Every Sense Of The Word

black-widow-new-trailer-social-featured

Natasha Romanoff has been a fan favorite character ever since she was introduced to the MCU in Iron Man 2. Scarlett Johansson played the character on eight separate occasions, exploring every aspect of Natasha, from her tragic backstory to her heroic redemption since joining Shield. Natasha's entire life was focused on The Avengers and the difference they made to the world, which is why she was willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to obtain the soul stone.

Though Natasha's time in front of the MCU cameras has ended, Kevin Feige recently announced that Johansson has signed on to produce a mystery upcoming Marvel movie. Here's hoping she can have as much impact behind the cameras as she did in front of it.

Tony Stark - He Is Iron Man

When people think of the MCU, they more than likely think of the wise-cracking, goatee-wearing Tony Stark and his Iron Man suit. Taken hostage by armed terrorists, Tony escaped using nothing but his intellect and refusal to surrender. From there, Iron Man became an iconic superhero, responsible for saving the world on multiple occasions, even giving his life to rid the world of Thanos and his army finally.

Perhaps the saddest death of the MCU so far, Tony has continued to have a significant impact on the MCU even after his death. With Spider-Man: No Way Home opening up the multiverse, fans have fresh hope that some iteration of Tony Stark will return to the big screen, hopefully, sooner rather than later.
