Production is currently underway on one of the more high-profile pilots of this season, and some debut images from the set have landed online.  The Shield and Last Resort vet Shawn Ryan serves as executive producer and showrunner on the potential Beverly Hills Cop series, and last night he shared a few images from the set that gave us our first look at the return of Eddie Murphy’s Axel Foley alongside his son, played by Brandon T. Jackson.  The show’s focus is centered on the young Aaron Foley and is described as a police procedural with a comedic element.  Murphy appears in the pilot and will potentially have a recurring role on the show should CBS pick it up to series.

Beverly Hills Cop will find Jackson’s Aaron Foley itching to get out from under his father’s shadow in Detroit as he makes the move to Beverly Hills to tackle crime in the wealthy neighborhood.  Kevin Pollak stars as the in-house lawyer for the BHPD, a character described as “incredibly risk-averse, a stickler for the rules, and a loud-mouthed bully.”  Judge Reinhold is also expected to make an appearance in the pilot, reprising his role as Billy Rosewood from the film series.

Ryan wrote the pilot, which is being directed by Men in Black helmer Barry Sonnenfeld.  The cast seems solid and I’m interested to see what kind of tone Ryan strikes for the series, so hopefully CBS moves forward with the show.
