The fall of 2020 brought us Big Sky, a crime drama all about how nowhere is safe from the worst of society, not even the big, open skies of Montana. Big Sky follows Jenny Hoyt and Cassie Dewell as they take on case after case in addition to sorting through whichever personal issues they may be dealing with at the time. Season 1 brought a human trafficking ring and a murderous family to their doorstep, and Season 2 has all sorts of new chaos in store for the Dewell and Hoyt Investigations pair. Here's the run down on the characters of Big Sky and the cast who play them.

Jenny Hoyt (Katheryn Winnick)

Fresh off her 6 season run as Lagertha on Vikings, Katheryn Winnick has taken on the demanding role of Jenny Hoyt on Big Sky. You may also recognize Winnick from her short stint on Bones, her role in the Jake Gyllenhaal vehicle Love & Other Drugs, or an appearance in the Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl comedic thriller, Killers. From her Season 1 role as a private investigator to her new title at the local sheriff’s office, Jenny is always busy making sure justice reigns supreme. Jenny and Cassie didn’t start out on great terms, what with Cassie cheating with Jenny’s husband, Cody. But thanks to the events of Big Sky Season 1, the two have become quite the pair. Whatever the case may be, whether she’s racing to save a pair of kidnapped sisters, avenging a former lover’s death, or investigating a seemingly random, senseless murder, Jenny Hoyt is definitely on the case.

Cassie Dewell (Kylie Bunbury)

A private eye is only as good as her partner, and Jenny has had a great one in Cassie Dewell. Played most effectively by Kylie Bunbury, whom you may recognize from her previous starring role in Pitch, as well as her other TV projects, When They See Us and Brave New World, or maybe her work in the movie Game Night. Cassie is more than just Jenny’s sidekick on Big Sky, though. Cassie and Jenny’s husband, Cody, started Dewell and Hoyt Private Investigations well before Jenny and Cassie were on the same team. She’s established herself as a force all on her own, now, helping to mentor Jerrie along the way. From enemies to partners, Jenny and Cassie have become quite the pair of investigators. They trust each others’ instincts and work together to bring the bad guys to justice.

Ronald Pergman (Brian Geraghty)

Speaking of really bad guys, this is one face you’re going to love to hate - Ronald that is. Brian Geraghty on the other hand, will probably impress you with just how creepy he can make his character. You might know him from his work on the Chicago shows (Chicago P.D., Chicago Med, and Chicago Fire), as well as his work on the big screen in The Hurt Locker, Flight, or on the right side of the law in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. While Brian’s talents are delightful, Ronald Pergman is an awful human. But he is one heck of a great antagonist. He is a killer through and through, and we saw throughout the first season that as long as he has a victim in his clutches, he can keep the rest of his life in order. When Jenny and Cassie upended his life in the first season, though, everything descended into chaos for Ronald. Now he’s facing new challenges as someone has him in a box, and how he adjusts to that could change his character in the long run.

Denise Brisbane (Dedee Pfeiffer)

You can’t have an investigations business without one heck of an office manager. Dedee Pfeiffer brings Denise Brisbane to life on Big Sky, just as she’s done in a myriad of other television appearances. She’s had small roles in some of the most defining shows of the last decade including ER, Supernatural, and CSI, as well as a four year stint on For Your Love. Denise Brisbane keeps all things in order at Dewell and Hoyt while Cassie and Jenny are out digging around for justice. From her quippy remarks to her sage guidance, it's hard to know where our crime fighting duo would be without her.

Jerrie Kennedy (Jesse James Keitel)

Jerrie Kennedy started her time on Big Sky as one of Ronald’s targets, but she has quickly become a valued member of the Dewell and Hoyt team. Played so brilliantly by Jesse James Keitel, who had a small stint on Younger and in the Student Academy Award-winning film Miller & Son, Jerrie has managed to pull herself through the horrific trauma of being kidnapped and brutalized by Ronald, and made quite a remarkable new life for herself helping Cassie and Jenny with their work.

Rich/Wolf Legarski (John Carroll Lynch)

John Carroll Lynch started his time on Big Sky as Trooper Rich Legarski, a truly evil man willing to bend the law to fit his will, including trafficking young girls in and out of his jurisdiction in conjunction with Ronald Pergman. Now, the actor is bringing Rich’s twin brother to life. Wolf Legarski has rules he believes life should be lived by, and he’s eager to teach Ronald Pergman the right way to live. Lynch has appeared in many films and television shows, but most notably in The Trial of the Chicago 7, Zodiac, and Gran Torino.

Mark Lindor (Omar Metwally)

The second half of Big Sky Season 1 brought a new character, Mark Lindor, to the scene. Mark and his U.S. Marshal badge has been a huge help in the quest to bring Ronald Pergman in, even if the killer still evades justice. He quickly ingratiated himself with Cassie and Jenny at Dewell and Hoyt, and his connections come in handy from time to time. Omar Metwally is best known for his work on The Affair, but has also appeared in Mr. Robot, Dig, as well as films, Munich and Rendition.

Sheriff Walter Tubb (Patrick Gallagher)

Easily recognizable from his time as Ken Tanaka on Glee, or from his portrayal of Atilla the Hun in the Night at the Museum movies, Patrick Gallagher plays Sheriff Walter Tubb on Big Sky. Doing his best to work with Jenny and Cassie, rather than against them. As the sheriff of Helena, Montana spends most of his time trying to keep things legal and admissible. PI’s have a tendency to take the law into their own hands from time to time, but, in order to make sure the bad guys get put away, things need to be done accordingly to keep law and order, so they build a good rapport with Sheriff Walter.
