Netflix has revealed the release date for season 2 of their reality TV series Bling Empire, along with confirming new cast members that will be appearing in the series' upcoming return. The popular series' second season will premiere on Netflix on May 13, 2022, with a promise that this second outing will be "even more luxury, glamor and crazy" than its first.
The new cast members that are joining season 2 of Bling Empire include Dorothy Wang, a former star on E! Entertainment's reality television show Rich Kids of Beverly Hills, and philanthropist Mimi Morris. The upcoming series will consist of a total of 8 episodes, each running for 40 minutes and all will be available to stream on the announced release date. The official descriptions of the two women provided by Netflix provide some insight into who they are and what people can expect them to bring to the show.
Wang's description speaks of how she became a fan favorite on Rich Kids of Beverly Hills, "captivating audiences with her impeccable style, perfectionist ways, and frank candor" and how her parents "instilled in Dorothy and her sister the importance of hard work, family values, and giving back to the community." Morris' description talks about how she and her family had to live in a hole in the ground in Vietnam after they fled for safety from their village. Eventually making their way to America, Morris was able to start a business and obtain a life of luxury, though it is clear that she does not forget her upbringing.
Bling Empire premiered in January 2021 and follows a cast of wealthy East Asian and East Asian-American socialites Christine Chiu, Kevin Kreider, Kelly Mi Li, Kim Lee, Kane Lim, and Gabriel Chiu in Los Angeles as they traverse parties, drama, and their everyday lives. The series was renewed for a second season in March 2021, only a few months after its premiere. As well as starring in the series, Mi Li and Chiu also act as Executive producers on the show alongside Jeff Jenkins, Brandon Panaligan, Ross Weintraub, Elise Chung, and Ben Eisele. The series is produced by Jeff Jenkins Productions.
