I’m in Las Vegas attending the press junket for the VERY funny Warner Bros. movie “The Hangover”. While I’ll have interviews with the cast and filmmakers in the coming days, Bradley Cooper was just in our room – along with Zach Galifianakis and Ed Helms - and someone asked him about “Green Lantern”.

In case you haven’t heard, Bradley is rumored to be one of the people WB is considered for the lead.

According to Bradley, the “Green Lantern” story is just an internet rumor. When people tried to follow up with him, he cut them off and just gave one word answers. I believe he said things like, “not true”, or “nope”.

But later in the interview, Zach Galifianakis was asked about his involvement in the upcoming movie “G-Force”. His response, “it’s just internet rumors”. Except, Zack really is one of the stars of the film, as I have seen the footage.

Right after Zach said that line, both Ed and Bradley laughed a lot.

In my opinion, Zack said that to show up Bradley and it was his way of saying that Bradley may be fudging the facts a little bit.

Here’s what I think is going on.

Bradley is definitely on the short list for “Green Lantern”. Maybe he is one of three or four people being considered, and he doesn’t want to risk saying anything as if he does, it could force WB to drop him or make it so the studio doesn’t want to sign him.

Also, maybe they are currently working on a contract and he doesn’t want to say anything that could cause him to lose the part.

So while Bradley said it’s just an internet rumor, his quick denial and the way he wanted to change the conversation showed me there is way more to the story.

I’m sure a casting announcement on “Green Lantern” is coming soon. It definitely wouldn’t surprise me to hear Bradley had been cast.
