First Trailer for BRAKE Starring Stephen Dorff Locked in the Trunk of a Car

     January 25, 2012

The first trailer for Brake has landed online, and it’s quite cool. Directed by Gabe Torres, the film stars Stephen Dorff as a secret service agent who wakes up locked in the trunk of a car. He discovers that he’s being used as part of a terrorist attack in which multiple car bombs are going off all over Washington D.C. While this all may sound a little too similar to the “Ryan Reynolds in a coffin” movie Buried, Brake looks to be a high octane thriller that just so happens to take place primarily in a car trunk. The contraptions and devices used to get information from Dorff’s character look particularly cool.

The actor previously talked to Steve at length about the project and described it as “Die Hard in the trunk of a car.” They shot the movie in a mere 11 days Dorff said it’s basically like an 88-minute firecracker. His comments on the project combined with this trailer have me wholly intrigued to see more. Hit the jump to check out the trailer for yourself. Break will be available VOD on February 17th and will hit theaters on March 23rd.

Here’s the synopsis for Brake:

Jeremy Reins (Stephen Dorff) is about to have a very bad day. He wakes up in total darkness, confused and disoriented. The only light comes from the blood-red digital numbers ticking away above his head. Jeremy quickly realizes he’s in trouble. It’s hard to breath. He can barely move. And no one will answer his cries for help. Then, he hears the sound of an engine and it all becomes clear…he’s trapped in the trunk of a moving car.

As his captors reveal themselves and their motives, Jeremy realizes he won’t be set free until he gives up the whereabouts of “Roulette,” a secret location where the U.S. President is taken in the event of a terrorist attack.
