Superman Returns star Brandon Routh is set to topline the sports film Crooked Arrows. Steve Rash (Can’t Buy Me Love) will direct the flick which is set in the world of lacrosse, because every American loves a good uplifting lacrosse movie. Variety reports that the story centers on a Native American high school lacrosse team that is forced to join the prep school league. Routh will play the part-Native American entrepreneurial son of the tribe’s leader, who is forced to coach the rag-tag team in a league full of much better rivals. Todd Baird is writing the screenplay. Filming is set to begin in Boston this July.
