- Brenton Thwaites (Blue Lagoon: The Awakening) is now set to star opposite Jeff Bridges in Philip Noyce's adaptation of Lois Lowry's award-winning story, The Giver.
- Dylan Minnette (Let Me In) and Kerry Dorsey (Moneyball) have joined Miguel Arteta's Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, starring Ed Oxenbould (Julian), Steve Carell and Jennifer Garner.
- Bianca Haase (How I Met Your Mother) is the latest addition to Steve Pink's Hot Tub Time Machine 2, starring Adam Scott, Craig Robinson, Rob Corddry, Gillian Jacobs, Chevy Chase and Clark Duke.

We recently reported that Thwaites was included in a group of young male actors testing for the part opposite Bridges in The Giver. Deadline reports that Thwaites has landed the role and production will begin in South Africa this fall. Thwaites will play Jonas, a young boy fated to receive the collected memories of his people, both the pleasant and the painful. Thwaites will also play the role of the Prince in Disney's live-action movie Maleficent, starring Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning.
Deadline also reports that Minnette - who was included in the potentials for the role of Jonas in The Giver - will join Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day along with Dorsey as Alexander's older brother and sister. Oxenbould stars as the title character.
Finally from Deadline comes news of the addition of Haase to Hot Tub Time Machine 2. The new installment will see the the group jumping forward in time on this go-round. Haase will play a love interest for Duke's character. Named "Sophie, [she's] a sweet but tightly-wound coat check girl in 2014 who has loosened up considerably ten years into the future." The sequel is currently filming in New Orleans.
