The Weinstein Company just released the first trailer for director John Wells’ (August: Osage County) upcoming drama Burnt. Previously titled Adam Jones, the film boasts a screenplay by Steven Knight (Locke) and Michael Kalesniko (Iron Sky), and stars Bradley Cooper as a temperamental, two-star Michelin “rockstar” chef who had it all and lost it, and is now on a journey to get back on top.

The new trailer is certainly more of an attention-grabber than that first poster, but the promo still feels like it's missing something. It's abundantly clear that Adam Jones is insanely passionate about his craft, but his pompous attitude and lack of warmth makes him difficult to root for or care about. But, of course, this is just a trailer, so hopefully that's something that'll be addressed in the full feature.

Check out the first Burnt trailer for yourself below. The film also stars Sienna Miller, Omar Sy, Daniel Brühl, Matthew Rhys, Uma Thurman and Emma Thompson. Burnt opens on October 23rd.

Here’s the official synopsis for Burnt:

Chef Adam Jones (Bradley Cooper) had it all – and lost it. A two-star Michelin rockstar with the bad habits to match, the former enfant terrible of the Paris restaurant scene did everything different every time out, and only ever cared about the thrill of creating explosions of taste. To land his own kitchen and that third elusive Michelin star though, he’ll need the best of the best on his side, including the beautiful Helene (Sienna Miller). BURNT is a remarkably funny and emotional story about the love of food, the love between two people, and the power of second chances.
